Gift Idea: Personalized Storybook for Kids
My son Hayden turns 1 this week and my wife and I wanted to get him something truly special and memorable. We thought about purchasing a book and writing a nice note for our son to read many years in the future. A note that will let him know how loved he is, and how special his momentous first birthday was for our whole family.
In our search for the perfect book, we stumbled upon the website www.custommadeforkids.com. This company offers a very unique service where you can use their website to personalize a book for your child. Had we found the perfect gift?
Their first book
The First Adventures of Incredible You becomes a completely personalized, 32 page storybook. Our job was to answer 26 questions using a form on the website. Our answers to these questions became the people and locations featured within the book. Our son’s name was used throughout the book to refer to the main character. His adventures included sampling Grandma Pat’s cookies and star-gazing with Grandpa.
The best part of these books is that the questions we answered appeared seamlessly within the book’s text. This isn’t a book with blanks that are filled in, our answers were in the same font and ink as the rest of the book’s text, which give the book the appearance that it is the only copy and was written just for our son.
The time it took from when we filled out our first question to the moment it arrived in our mail was just 9 days. The illustrations are colourful and unique and the book is a large hard cover piece. Each book includes a dedication page so your child never forgets that this unique keepsake was a gift from you. In addition to your child's name and birth date, some meaningful things you can include in these custom books include their favorite food, favorite park, favorite sports team and the person(s) who puts them to bed.
