When I was a little girl, I had this personalized book about my efforts to help Santa save Christmas. There was nothing better than reading my own name (spelled correctly!) in a book. While I don't actually have the book anymore, I remember that it was paperback and very cheaply made. I think my name was even in a different font type than the rest of the story. None of this mattered though. I loved the book, and all it had in it was my name. I can't even imagine how much I would have loved it if it had been as personalized as the book, The First Adventures of Incredible You by Custom Made for Kids. Now she asks us to read it no less than 5 times a day!

I've come across quite a few personalized books over the last few years, but none that I've enjoyed reading as much as The First Adventures of Incredible You. Each page has a rhyming verse that flows nicely, even with the personalization. The illustrations are colorful and fun, definitely interesting enough to hold Nadia's attention while we're reading. There are 16 different ways to personalize the book, and I love that you get to include lots of important people, not just Mommy and Daddy. Since we are most likely not going to live in Chicago on our particular street forever, the book will also be a nice snapshot of this time in her life. I know that someday we'll do lots of reminiscing when we read this book which will be fun.

The quality of this book is outstanding. You get a nice hardbound copy with glossy pages that will stand up to all that a little reader can dish out. The customized text is completely seamless, it doesn't stand out in any way. Another way that this book excels is that it doesn't require you to have a "traditional" family in order to enjoy the story. If you don't go by Mommy or Momma, that's OK. The creators of The First Adventures of Incredible You even were so thoughtful as to make the book fitting for a child who was adopted as well. There's no mention of an infant coming home, just a page about walking through the front door for the first time. This is truly a personalized book fit for any child!
